Nicknames? Meaning? Oh I have lots, but the most publicly appropriate ones to put on here are Jenny, P-Unit, Lodi, and Pelky. Volleyball Background: I started playing indoor when I was 13 and a freshman in high school. I had never played volleyball before that but fell in love with it. The next summer I did a bunch of camps and ended up making varsity my sophomore year. I was a setter in high school, played a couple years of junior Olympic v-ball for Quaker City VBC out of Philly, PA (this club is no longer around), and ended up starting all 4 years in college as a defensive specialist (we had no “libero” back then..haha). I moved to Virginia Beach after I graduated college and a year later I found TVA and the volleyball crew. I’m still playing indoors, been playing beach now for 6 years and I absolutely love it. Most Memorable Volleyball Non-Beach Playing Story/Moment: Playing in the NCAA playoffs in college (div 3), we made it to the 2nd round and then had to play Juniata (they were ranked 4th in the nation div 3 at the time)…we lost the match but won a game against them. We felt like superstars for that game even though we didn’t advance in the playoffs! Most Memorable Volleyball Beach Playing Story/Moment: I really enjoyed playing in the 2007 EVP tournament last year. The match we played on center court was a lot of fun and a really good match. I remember the commentator saying something like “despite the obvious height difference this is a very evenly matched game”. He was talking about the fact that Melissa and I looked like 2 midgets playing against 2 giants…haha it was quite entertaining! But we held our own and played one of the best matches together we’ve ever played. If you could play with anyone in the world, who would it be and why? Phil Dalhausser…we would rock some coed 2’s Volleyball awards won? High School: MVP my senior year, led the team in serving aces, assists AND kills (yeah we sucked) haha. College: 4th all-time in Lady Royals history in serving aces and digs. Middle Atlantic Conference Academic Honor Roll for falls sports 97, 98, 99, 00 (I was kinda a nerd too) Has anyone inspired you either on the beach or in life? Misty May…cause she’s an amazing beach player and she’s not 5,000 ft tall Favorite Foods? Sushi, Filet Mignon, Mexican and Italian Favorite Movie? The Forty Year Old Virgin..I know practically every line. Favorite Book? The Five People You Meet in Heaven Favorite TV Show? Rob & Big If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, who would it be and why? Steve Carrell..b/c he’s hilarious and it would be a great time Any hobbies outside of volleyball? Running (1/2 marathons, want to do a full marathon next year), Softball, Adult kickball, Happy Hours, Traveling Anything else you would like your fans to know?
